Ideas for the cover and theme

The image at the top of the page is like the way i want to design my music magazine, i like the font on the cover and the dark background would suit my magazine well.

The second image has been taken from "RWD" magazine, the simple cover design works well and i like the way the picture has been taken. In my music magazine i would like a list of artist on the front just the way they are set out on this page, the text headline seperating the two artists works well and i think i am going to use a full page image with writng over the top.
